Emergency
In an emergency, Palm Beach County Deputy Sheriffs and AMR Paramedics can be contacted by dialing 9- 1-1. The operator, upon learning that the call is from Boca West, will automatically dispatch these on-site professionals. In every health-related emergency, the 9-1-1 operator will also send the nearest Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue paramedics to the scene as back-ups to the AMR paramedics. In addition, for criminal incidents, the assigned Deputy may summon other resources within the Sheriff’s Department to address the situation presented.
In life or death situations, County paramedics will transport the victim to the nearest hospital. In non life or death situations, County paramedics or AMR paramedics may perform the transport to the nearest hospital or a hospital of the victim’s choosing. In both situations, an invoice is generated for the service. If the transport of a victim is in the hands of AMR paramedics, the Boca West unit calls an outside AMR unit ensuring that Boca West is never without a team of paramedics on duty.
In addition, in police or health-care/fire situations, Supervisors in the Security Department will also be dispatched to the scene to lend support and/or direct traffic as needed.
