Rules

The Board of Directors has the authority to adopt rules. Each rule adopted requires publication. This is accomplished by including the text in a written communication from the Association, such as the quarterly Newsletter, which is then mailed first-class to all residents. Each new resident learns of the rules via a letter that is mailed from the office that lists all the rules.

  • The current rules are:
  • Transponders assigned to a family will be de-activated for thirty (30) days whenever members, or their guests, receive two (2) Warning Citations for traffic infractions within a two year period. The third Warning = sixty (60) day de-activation. The fourth Warning = ninety (90) day de-activation. The fifth Warning = one year de-activation. Owners who allow their dog(s) to roam unleashed are subject to citations with the same sanctions.
  • Permanent electric generators may not be installed if they operate at more than 75 decibels. Operation of all generators is subject to approval of each resident’s village Board of Directors.
  • Deliveries, moving vans, non-emergency service calls, and construction-type workers are permitted to enter only between 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday thru Friday; 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, and not at all on Sundays and Holidays.
  • “Tag”, “Garage”, “Yard” sales and real estate “Open Houses” are prohibited.
  • Providing your Security Number to unauthorized persons is prohibited.
  • No guest will be admitted who is not registered.
  • No Village Board or property owner (except the Country Club) may sell or lease real property to another for other than residential use.
  • Golf carts operated at night must have headlights and brake lights.

Rules of the Road:

All motor vehicles must comply with posted speed limits and other traffic signs and pavement markings that serve as traffic control devices.

Golf carts may be used on the roadways, golf course paths, and the multi-purpose paths adjacent to all main roads. When traveling on the roadways, carts must do so on the outside edge of the road in the same direction as motor vehicles and must yield to motor vehicles, bicyclists and joggers/walkers. Only adults may operate a golf cart. Use extreme caution and slow down when approaching bicyclists or pedestrians. Indicate all turns by using standard hand signals. Children under 16 may not operate a golf cart. Youngsters may not sit on the lap of an adult operator.

Bicycles may be used on the multi-purpose paths or roadways. When traveling on the roadways, bicyclists must do so on the outside edge of the road in the same direction as motor vehicles, obey all traffic control devices and operate single file. For safety reasons, bicyclists are encouraged to use the multi-purpose paths. Use extreme caution and slow down when approaching pedestrians.

All persons, when using the roadways for the purpose of walking or jogging, should always FACE on-coming traffic and be in a single file on the outside edge of the road. For safety reasons, walkers and joggers are strongly encouraged to use the multi-purpose paths. Proper attire includes shorts and upper body cover-ups.

Skates and skateboards are prohibited on the main roadways and village roads where posted, except for in-line skates on the path leading to and around Bridgewood from the Sports Pavilion. Approved safety equipment must be worn.
